Transferring a Domain to Traxio

The unlock code, the EPP transfer, and what to expect timing-wise when moving a domain to Traxio.

Transferring a domain moves its registration to Traxio while keeping the same domain name and any existing website live throughout, provided DNS isn't changed unnecessarily during the process.

  1. Unlock the domain at your current registrar — look for a 'transfer lock' or 'domain lock' toggle and switch it off.
  2. Request the EPP/authorisation code from the same registrar; it's usually emailed or shown in the domain's settings panel.
  3. Start the transfer from your Traxio account, entering the domain name and the code you received.
  4. Approve the confirmation email sent to the domain's registered contact address.
Timing: most transfers complete within 5–7 days, which is standard across the industry rather than specific to Traxio — this delay is built in by domain registries as a security measure.
