Getting Started

First steps after your domain and hosting go live.

Everything you need for the first hour with a new Traxio account, in the order it makes sense to do it. Start by pointing your domain at our nameservers, because DNS changes take the longest to propagate and everything else depends on them. While you wait, log into DirectAdmin and get familiar with where things live — the file manager, the database section and the SSL panel are the three you will use most.

Once DNS resolves, your SSL certificate is issued automatically and you can install WordPress or upload your own files. If a step here does not match what you are seeing, the tutorials index has longer walkthroughs, and the community forum is the place to ask.

Coming from another host rather than starting fresh? The migration guide covers the no-downtime sequence.

Around fifteen minutes of actual work, plus waiting for DNS. Pointing your domain is the slow part — usually one to two hours for nameservers to propagate. Everything else (installing WordPress, uploading files, creating mailboxes) can be done while you wait.
Yes. Traxio does not sell domains, and the hosting account is created against a specific domain name. Register one with any registrar first — roughly £8–£12 a year for a .co.uk.
Point your domain first, because everything else waits on DNS. Then log in to DirectAdmin and change your password. Then check SSL has issued. Then install or upload your site. Doing SSL before DNS resolves is the most common cause of a failed certificate.
