FAQ
Questions, answered plainly
Everything people ask before they start: the free trial, the price, what the hosting can run and how support works.
Starting free
Is there a free plan?
Not a separate one. There isn’t a cut-down Traxio free tier: your first month is the normal Traxio hosting, free, and you keep the same account for £0.99 a month afterwards. Nothing needs moving or rebuilding when the free month ends. How starting free works
Is the hosting really free for 30 days?
Yes. The first 30 days of every new account cost nothing, and you get the complete service — the same storage, email, SSL and control panel as a paying customer. No card is needed to start.
Do you take payment details up front?
No. You aren’t asked for a card to start. You only add payment details if you decide to continue after the 30 days.
What happens on day 31?
An invoice for your first month at £0.99 is issued as the trial ends. Pay it in the client area and your hosting carries on unchanged. If you don’t pay, the account is suspended 7 days after the invoice date and closed after 14. The full timeline
Do you check that my domain points at Traxio?
Yes, during the first 30 days only. DNS Guard checks that each new account’s domain points here, because a no-card trial attracts accounts that are never used. An account at least 48 hours old whose domain hasn’t pointed to Traxio for 24 hours in a row can be suspended until it does. Nothing is deleted and it restores automatically. How DNS Guard works
Price and billing
How much does Traxio cost?
£0.99 a month after your free 30 days. That’s £11.88 a year. There’s one service and one price.
What if I need more email accounts, storage or bandwidth?
Add just what you need in the client area. An extra email account, domain, database or FTP account is £0.99 each, paid once. Extra disk space is £0.99 a month per 5GB, and extra bandwidth is £0.99 a month per 50GB. How add-ons work
Will the price go up after the first year?
No. £0.99 is the ongoing price, not an introductory rate.
Is there a setup fee, VAT or card fee?
No. There’s no setup fee, and Traxio isn’t VAT-registered, so £0.99 is the total you pay.
How do I pay?
By card, through Stripe, in the client area. It’s the only payment method: there’s no PayPal, direct debit or bank transfer.
Do I have to pay annually to get the 99p price?
No. Billing is monthly, and £0.99 is the monthly price.
How do I cancel?
In the client area, whenever you like. There’s no minimum term and no cancellation fee. How to cancel cleanly
Do you offer refunds?
No. The 30 free days are there so you can try the complete service before paying anything. If you cancel, the service runs to the end of the period you’ve paid for.
The hosting
What do I get for £0.99 a month?
3GB NVMe storage, 100GB bandwidth a month, the DirectAdmin control panel, free SSL, one email account on your domain, one MySQL database, one FTP account plus SFTP, one-click apps including WordPress, and daily offsite backups. The full specification
Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes. Everything is done in your browser, WordPress installs in one click, and there’s a tutorial for every first job. Hosting for your first website
Can I run WordPress, a forum or a shop?
Yes. WordPress, forum software such as phpBB and SMF, and small WooCommerce shops all run well within the limits. Very busy shops or sites with heavy traffic will need more than shared hosting.
Can I host more than one website?
Yes. One domain is included, with subdomains. Each extra domain is a £0.99 one-off add-on, and every site shares the account’s storage and bandwidth.
Which PHP versions are supported?
PHP 7.4, 8.0, 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3, switchable per domain in DirectAdmin.
Do you support Node.js, Python or Ruby?
Python apps and Node.js apps (several versions) are both supported. Ruby isn’t supported.
Where are the servers?
Traxio hosts websites on its DirectAdmin platform in a data centre in Montreal, Canada. Traxio itself is a UK business. Our hosting platform
Domains and email
Do I need my own domain name?
Yes. Hosting doesn’t include one, so you’ll use a domain you already own and point it at Traxio. Using your own domain
What are Traxio’s nameservers?
Traxio’s nameservers are ns1.traxio.co.uk, ns2.traxio.co.uk and ns3.traxio.co.uk. They’re in your welcome email too.
Is email included?
Yes. One email account on your own domain is included, and each extra account is £0.99, paid once. Use them in webmail or any email app. Mailboxes share your storage.
Can I use Cloudflare?
Yes. Cloudflare is the only CDN or proxy Traxio supports. Using Cloudflare with Traxio
Support
How does support work?
Start with the help centre. If you still need help, open a ticket from the client area: an AI reads it and replies, and a person steps in when a ticket is escalated. How the help desk works
Is there phone support or live chat?
No. There’s no phone line, live chat or 24/7 staff. That’s part of how the price stays at 99p.
Will Traxio build or fix my website?
No. Support covers the hosting and the server. Building sites, fixing WordPress themes and plugins, and debugging your own code are outside it.
Is my data backed up?
Traxio takes daily offsite backups as a courtesy, with no guarantee. Keeping your own backups is your responsibility, and DirectAdmin can create a full backup whenever you like. How to take a backup
Can I move my site to another host later?
Yes. Download a full backup, or your files and databases, from DirectAdmin and take them wherever you like. There’s no exit fee.
