NVMe hosting as standard, not an upsell

Every Traxio account runs on NVMe storage — and we will tell you honestly where that matters, where it does not, and what to fix first. 30 days free, then £0.99 a month.

Exactly what “free” means here

  • Free for 30 days. A full hosting account with nothing held back — no feature restrictions during the trial.
  • No card details required to start. You can sign up and run your site for the whole 30 days without giving us any payment information.
  • Nothing can be charged automatically, because we have nothing to charge. Payment details are only taken if you decide to continue.
  • Then £0.99/month if you choose to carry on. That is the ongoing price — it does not rise after the first year.
  • No setup fee and no hidden charges of any kind.
  • You bring your own domain. Traxio does not sell domain names, so you will need one you already own or register elsewhere.

What NVMe changes, honestly

NVMe is one of the most advertised words in hosting and one of the least explained. The short version: it is the modern way for solid-state storage to talk to the machine — over PCIe lanes rather than an interface designed for spinning disks — and the win is latency and parallelism, not headline throughput. Thousands of small random reads answered quickly is the workload it transforms, and thousands of small random reads is precisely what a WordPress page, a forum thread or any database-backed request generates.

Here is the part the adverts skip: on a well-cached site, storage is rarely the bottleneck. Compressing your images will do more for load times than the disk under your account — and we run NVMe throughout. We would rather be the host that tells you that. NVMe is a genuine tiebreaker and a reasonable signal that the hardware under a plan is not ancient; it is a poor primary reason to choose anyone, us included.

Where it genuinely helps

Database-chatty workloads: WordPress admin and logged-in views, forum threads, uncached dynamic pages, imports and backups. Latency compounds across dozens of queries per request.

Where it honestly doesn't

A cached page served from memory, or a static HTML site, barely touches the disk. Fix caching and images first; the speed guide is the ordered list.

Standard, on every account

No storage tiers, no “SSD vs NVMe” upsell ladder. The £0.99 plan runs the same storage everything else here runs.

Paired with what actually compounds it

PHP 8.3 available per domain and a current stack — storage plus modern PHP is the combination WordPress notices, not either alone.

The full picture published

Storage type is the easiest specification to advertise; the spec page publishes the rest, which matters more.

Verifiable, free, for 30 days

Benchmark your real application on a live account before paying anything — the trial is the whole product, not a demo of it.

Traxio Free Start

We stopped running four tiers. There is one plan, it does everything, and it costs less than a coffee per year.

Frequently asked questions

A protocol that lets SSDs talk to the system over PCIe lanes instead of the old SATA interface designed for spinning disks. The practical result is much lower latency and far more parallel operations — the difference shows most on small random reads, which is exactly what database-backed websites generate.
It depends what your site does. Database-heavy applications — WordPress, forums, anything with logged-in users bypassing caches — benefit measurably. A cached brochure page served from memory barely touches the disk, so gains there are small. We would rather tell you that than sell storage as magic: the full honest breakdown is here.
Neither — every Traxio account is on NVMe because it is what the servers run. It is not an upsell checkbox, and the £0.99 price already includes it.
In rough order for a typical site: caching, image weight, PHP version, then storage. NVMe is a genuine tiebreaker between otherwise comparable hosts and a poor primary reason to choose one. Our own speed guide says exactly that, about our own product.
Yes — that is what the 30 days are for. Install your actual application, load your actual content, and measure with real tools rather than trusting our adjectives or anyone else's.
