What you’ll need
- FileZilla installed
- Your DirectAdmin username and password
For regular site edits, SFTP beats the browser File Manager: you work on your own copy and upload changes in bulk, encrypted.
Steps
Step 1: Create a site in Site Manager
File → Site Manager → New site. Protocol SFTP, host your domain or the server address, port 26628, user your DirectAdmin username. Connecting with FileZilla (FTP and SFTP)
Step 2: Set default folders
In Advanced, set the default local directory to your site folder and the remote directory to
/domains/yourdomain.co.uk/public_html.Step 3: Enable synchronised browsing
Tick Use synchronized browsing so both panels move together as you open folders.
Step 4: Connect and accept the host key
Connect, check the host and accept the key on first connection.
Step 5: Compare folders
View → Directory comparison → Compare modification time, then enable it. Newer local files are highlighted.
Step 6: Upload changes
Select the highlighted files and drag them to the server panel.
Check it worked
You can connect in one click from Site Manager, and uploading a changed file shows the update on the live site.
