Website size and bandwidth calculator
Will your site fit in 3GB of storage and 100GB of bandwidth a month? Enter rough numbers and find out. Everything is worked out in your browser.
Your estimate
How it works
Storage is the sum of your files, database and email, compared with 3GB (counted here as 3,072MB; DirectAdmin shows your real usage). Bandwidth is visitors × pages per visit × page weight, compared with 100GB a month.
It is an estimate. Caching means returning visitors download less, while search-engine crawlers and hot-linked images add some. The limits come from the full specification; is 3GB enough? explains them in plain English.
If you are close to a limit
- Optimise your images: usually the biggest saving of space and bandwidth.
- Reduce disk usage: find large files and old backups.
- Use Cloudflare: the supported CDN, which can take traffic off your account.
- Hosting limits explained: what the limits mean and what happens at them.
Common questions
Does email count towards my storage?
Yes. The 3GB is shared by your website files, databases and email, so include all three.
What counts as bandwidth?
The data sent between your website and its visitors each month: every page, image, script and download. A page that is heavy in images uses far more than a page of text.
Is 100GB a month enough?
For most small sites, comfortably. At 1.5MB a page it is roughly 68,000 page views a month before caching, which is a lot for a new blog, club or small business site.
What if I am over the limit?
First make the site lighter: compress images and delete old backups. If you still need more, extra disk space and bandwidth can be added in the client area.
