Does Traxio back up my website?

Keeping backups of your website, databases and email is your responsibility.

Traxio does back up every hosting account daily and store those backups offsite, on a rolling basis. But they’re provided as a courtesy only: there’s no guarantee that a backup will exist for a particular date, be complete or be restorable, and Traxio accepts no liability for lost data. The details are in section 8 of the terms.

Your own backups

Create a full backup in DirectAdmin and download it. It includes your website files, databases and email. How to create and download a full account backup

• Regularly. How often depends on how much your site changes. A simple backup strategy for your website
• Before big changes, such as updates, a new theme or a migration.
• Off the server. Keep copies on your computer or in cloud storage, not only in your hosting account.

If something goes wrong

If you don’t have one, you can ask through the help desk, saying what you need back and from roughly when. Restore requests are escalated to a person, who will try to restore it from Traxio’s backups. That isn’t guaranteed to be possible, which is exactly why your own copies matter.

Closed accounts

Backups can’t bring back an account after it’s been terminated. If you’re leaving Traxio or letting the account lapse, download a full backup first.
