HTML basics and common mistakes
An HTML website is a folder of files. The home page must be called index.html, in lower case:

| The page has no styling | The CSS path is wrong. Try a path starting with /, such as /style.css. |
Common questions
Is my code sent to Traxio?
No. The preview runs entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded or stored. Choosing a template fetches a plain text file from Traxio, and that is the only request the tool makes.
Why won’t JavaScript run in the preview?
The preview is deliberately locked down: scripts, forms and plugins are switched off, and the page cannot reach other sites. This keeps the tool safe, so test JavaScript on your hosting account instead.
Why don’t my images or stylesheet load?
The preview cannot see files on your computer or hosting account. Images from https:// addresses and embedded data: images appear; relative paths such as images/photo.jpg or style.css do not. Put your CSS inside a <style> tag to preview it here.
Can I save my work?
Use Download index.html to save a copy to your computer. The tool does not keep anything, so download before you close the page.
