Can I host more than one website on my account?

Yes. Every account includes one domain, with subdomains under it, and you can add extra domains for £0.99 each, paid once.

Subdomains: included

Subdomains are separate addresses on your domain, each with its own folder and its own website if you want one:

• yourdomain.co.uk — your main site
• blog.yourdomain.co.uk — a separate blog
• shop.yourdomain.co.uk — a shop on a different application
• staging.yourdomain.co.uk — a test copy of your site (Using a subdomain as a staging site)

Each can run a different application, a different PHP version and have its own SSL certificate. How to create a subdomain shows how.

Extra domains: £0.99 each, one-off

To run a second, unrelated website on its own domain — say anotherbusiness.com — on the same account, add an extra domain in the client area. It’s a one-off payment, and the domain stays on your account for as long as the hosting does.

Two things to plan for:

• Everything shares the account’s resources. All sites share 3GB of disk and 100GB of bandwidth. Extra disk space and bandwidth are available if you need them. Add-ons: extra email accounts, domains, databases, disk space and bandwidth
• Each app usually needs its own database. One database is included; extra databases are £0.99 each, one-off.

Keep the domain the account was set up with

DirectAdmin lets you change the domain your account uses, but it isn’t recommended. During the first 30 days, DNS Guard keeps checking the domain the account was set up with, so changing it can get the account suspended. Add an extra domain instead. Pointing an extra domain at your site

If you own yourbrand.com and yourbrand.co.uk and simply want one to send visitors to the other, you don’t need hosting for the second domain. Set up a redirect at your domain registrar, most of which offer free web forwarding.
