5 tutorials, easiest first
Start here if you have a new Traxio account and a domain name. The tutorials run in the order you'd do them for real: log in, point the domain at Traxio, put a site in place (your own files or WordPress), then turn on HTTPS. Each one stands alone, so if your domain is already connected you can skip straight to uploading. Allow an afternoon for the whole track, most of it waiting for DNS.
- Log in to your new Traxio account for the first time
Find your login details, sign in to the client area and DirectAdmin, and secure both with new passwords.
Covers: Find your welcome email; Sign in to the client area; Open DirectAdmin; Log in with your DirectAdmin username; Change the DirectAdmin password; Take a quick look around.
- Connect your domain to Traxio
Point your domain at Traxio by changing its nameservers, then confirm the change has worked.
Covers: Log in to your registrar; Find the nameserver setting; Switch to custom nameservers; Turn off forwarding or parking; Wait, then check the nameservers; Check the domain resolves to your server.
- Upload a website you’ve built
Put an HTML or PHP website online by uploading it as a zip, extracting it into public_html and checking every page loads.
Covers: Check your home page file; Zip the contents, not the folder; Open public_html; Remove the placeholder; Upload the zip; Extract it; Delete the zip; Test every page.
- Install WordPress on Traxio
Install WordPress with Softaculous, sign in, and make the essential first changes so the site is ready to build.
Covers: Open Softaculous; Choose where it goes; Set up the admin account; Install; Log in; Set permalinks; Hide the site while you build; Update and tidy.
- Make your site secure with HTTPS
Confirm your free SSL certificate has issued, redirect all visitors to HTTPS, and clear up mixed content warnings.
Covers: Confirm the domain resolves to Traxio; Check the certificate; Request it if it’s missing; WordPress: update the site address; Add the HTTPS redirect; Test the redirect; Fix mixed content.
