Mail on macOS usually works out the settings itself. When it doesn’t, enter them manually.

Steps
- Open Mail, then Mail → Add Account.
- Choose Other Mail Account and select Continue.
- Enter your name, full email address and mailbox password. Select Sign In.
- If Mail can’t verify the account, more fields appear: - Account type: IMAP - Incoming mail server:
mail.yourdomain.co.uk- Outgoing mail server:mail.yourdomain.co.uk- User name: your full email address - Select Sign In, choose which apps use the account, and select Done.
Checking the ports
If sending fails, open Mail → Settings → Accounts, choose the account and open Server Settings. Turn off Automatically manage connection settings and set:
- Incoming: port 993, Use TLS/SSL on
- Outgoing: port 465, Use TLS/SSL on, authentication Password
Certificate warnings
If Mail warns that the server’s identity can’t be verified, don’t accept it permanently. See Certificate warning in your email app.
