Deleting a mailbox permanently removes it and every message in it.
1. Keep what you need
Connect the account to a mail app over IMAP and let it download everything, then export or move the messages to a local folder. How to back up your email
2. Delete
- Open E-mail Manager then E-mail Accounts.
- Select the account.
- Choose Delete and confirm.
3. Decide what happens to future mail
Once deleted, mail sent to the address bounces back to the sender. If people might still write to it — an old staff address, say — create a forwarder with the same name that sends mail to a current mailbox. How to set up email forwarding
