There are three reliable ways to move WordPress. All finish the same way: test on Traxio, then switch DNS.
Option 1: a migration plugin (easiest)
- Install WordPress on Traxio with Softaculous. How to install WordPress with Softaculous
- Install the same migration plugin on both old and new sites.
- Export from the old site and import into the new one.
Check the plugin’s free file-size limit. Sites near or above it may need the manual route.
Option 2: manual move
- Export the database from the old host’s phpMyAdmin.
- Download the files, particularly

- Upload the files to

wp-config.phpwith the new database name, user and password, andDB_HOSTset tolocalhost.
Test before switching DNS
Your domain still points at the old host. Preview the Traxio copy with your computer’s hosts file: add a line with your Traxio server IP and domain, browse the site, then remove the line. Previewing your site on Traxio before changing DNS
Switch DNS

If the domain changes as well
Update the site URL and replace old URLs in the database. How to change your WordPress site URL
Afterwards
Check SSL has issued, forms send email, and permalinks work (re-save Settings → Permalinks if inner pages 404). The WordPress migration tutorial walks through each step with checks.
