Short answer
Add the account manually rather than letting Outlook auto-discover it, which usually guesses wrong for custom domains. Choose IMAP, use
mail.yourdomain.co.uk for both servers, port 993 with SSL for incoming and 465 for outgoing.The setting people miss is under More settings → Outgoing Server: tick that the outgoing server requires authentication and that it uses the same credentials as incoming. Without it, mail arrives but nothing sends.
